What is microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup service that enhances your brows to define, fill in holes/gaps or even reconstruct a new brow shape. Using a manual hand-held tool, hair-like strokes are created to achieve the illusion of more hair. The goal is to enhance your natural brows with the look of no make up.

How long does it last?

The retention varies from person to person. Every person's results last a different amount of time depending on skin type and lifestyle. A color refresh is recommended, on average, from 12-18 months after your initial procedure.

How is it done?

Microblading is done manually by hand with a special tool creating "hair-like" strokes into the epidermis (top layer of the skin) while an organic pigment is deposited into the "hair strokes." All hand held tools are pre-sterilized with a one-time-use needle and then fully disposed of.

What is the procedure like?

I want to get to know you and your brows! Tell me your brow concerns, brow goals and what you'd like to achieve with microblading. The first part of the process is outlining the desired brow shape to the client's liking. This step is a collaborative process. The next step is numbing the area with a topical anesthetic. We then agree upon a pigment shade based on skin tone and natural hair color. The microblading takes 45 min. - 1 hour. Set aside 2 - 2.5 hours for the entire process.

Is there any downtime?

There is no downtime, but the healing process is different for everybody. Initial healing takes about 7-10 days. Full healing can take up to 5 - 6 weeks.

What is the healing process like?

Please note that healing is a process and it takes time for your brows to look their absolute best. Hair strokes can vary from crisp to soft-looking depending on skin type (normal, dry, oily, etc.) and porosity.

Week 1: Dark Phase - As the microblading is still fresh, tiny scabs form over the stokes that may make the brow appear darker and thicker. You will experience minor scabbing and peeling and itchiness. Do not pick or touch scabs, as this can result in scarring and poor retention.

Week 2: Light Phase - Brows will begin to lighten up drastically. For some clients, pigment appears to disappear and / or look patchy.

Week 3: Brows will reappear and become more evident and defined.

Week 4-5: Skin will be completely healed.

Do I need a Follow Up?

A follow up appointment is crucial 6-10 weeks after the initial appointment to perfect the final brow. Annual touch ups are necessary to refreshen your color and maintain your results.

Who is microblading not for?

Contraindications for microblading include those who have diabetes, HIV, hepatitis, glaucoma, excessively oily/acneic, keloids, or hypertrophic scarring. Pregnant women, lactating women, and those who take sterioids, Cortisone, Accutane, Retin-A, Renova, or any type of blood thinning medication (e.g. Aspirin) should not book a microblading service.

*If you have been previously tattooed, please email a clear photo of your brows before booking.*
